The Top Flite XL Set Raises the Bar Offering Excellent Quality at a Bargain Price

Top Flite XL 15Most all golfers have heard of the Top Flite ball, but maybe they were not aware of the Top Flite XL set of golf clubs.  Top Flite’s ball has always raised the bar for distance and durability, and now the clubs are jockeying for their own place at the top. For those in the market for clubs, here’s my personal review of this set.

When the Top Flite XL set hit the market, there wasn’t a great deal of fanfare compared to some of the other brands.  Most people learned about them due to their affordability.  There’s nothing wrong with using clubs that are inexpensive, as long as they meet your standards.  Here are some points I would like to make about these clubs.

We start with the driver, a 460cc with a graphite Synchro-flex shaft.  It has a great balance and natural feel when you address the ball.  I have compared it to clubs in the $200 range with no appreciable difference.

I couldn’t get any more distance from competitors’ drivers, and the sweet spot on the Top Flite club is large enough to compensate for even the hack golfer.  The clumsy feel of some drivers just isn’t there with the driver in this set because it feels like an extension of your arm.

Once you leave the tee, don’t think that you are going to lose much on the fairway.  Your #3 fairway wood won’t let you down on your approach to the green.  Expect a three-par hole to be just that.

Played correctly, you should have just the right amount of lift angle to drop the ball with amazing accuracy, and distance should be comparable to any other brand.  I found the #3 to leave balls a few yards short of my well-worn and favorite fairway club, but nothing that made me feel it was inferior.

The Top Flite XL set features hybrids with steel shafts.  I have a fast swing, so graphite handles are not my first choice. This set of clubs gives me exactly what I need to play my best game.  The bag comes complete with stand, a carry strap, and a rain cover.

The Top Flite XL set is a dependable set of clubs that will last for many years.  It is a great set if you have kids coming into the game.  You can give them an impressive set of clubs without taking a big chunk out of your wallet.

In my opinion, there is simply no reason other than bragging rights to pay a lot more money for clubs when you can own these. They are more than a bargain for the money.

In summary, the Top Flite XL set is much better than most of the clubs I’ve used, and they compare very well to top brands that cost more.  For a beginning golfer, you couldn’t ask for a better bargain.  I recommend them highly and truly believe you will get more than your money’s worth from these clubs.
